Broome - Dampier Peninsula
Gail will be supporting tourism businesses in the Kimberley - based in Broome
Gail has spent 35 years in the tourism industry. Her wide range of experience covers marketing, sales, and development for a niche travel Wholesaler, working for a State Tourism Authority based in London and Perth, managing Broome Visitor Centre and General Manager positions with accommodation properties. For the last 12 years she has run her own tourism consulting business from Broome.
For the past 26 years Gail has lived in Broome. Having also lived in Kununurra and Darwin, has given her a strong affinity, and understanding of the issues affecting regional Australia and the challenges of living and operating businesses in remote locations. She has an extremely strong network of local contacts encompassing tourism, hospitality, and general businesses across the Kimberley. |
Offering sales, marketing, and product development support to a range of tourism businesses in the Kimberley, Gail is able to call on the experience gained from varied roles in tourism to provide a practical understanding of the industry and to work with the travel industry to grow business.
Gail has been heavily involved with mentoring roles particularly for Indigenous businesses throughout the state. She works closely with many operators on the Dampier Peninsula and in remote Kimberley locations to help build their operations and market their business.
A career highlight was being awarded Australia’s North West Tourism Individual Award for Excellence in April 2012 for her contribution to the tourism industry in the region.
